When I heard about this cookbook a few weeks ago, I knew it had to be mine! The editors of
Glamour have teamed up and put together this little gem and I must say it's a great little find. The title of the cookbook is
100 Recipes Every Woman Should Know: Engagement Chicken and 99 Other Fabulous Dishes to Get the Most You Ever Wanted Out of Life. While the title may be as long as the cookbook, the recipes are actually really good and definitely things you want to know how to make. The book starts with the
folk lore of "Engagement Chicken", a simple dish that is said to be so impressive it makes eligible bachelors pop the big question, and moves on through apps, main dishes and starters that are all classified on complexity based on a 3 stiletto scale (clever since this is Glamour mag after all).
Besides my curiousity about Engagement Chicken which sounds very tasty, the other recipes are equally adorably named and have caught my attention as well. From the quick and easy "Make it in the Car Artichoke Dip" to yummy sounding main dishes like "Bikini Season Baked Salmon", "Marry Me Lasagna" and "It's Almost Pay Day Chilli" each recipe represents a time tested recipe diva chefs everywhere should indeed know how to make. The desserts also caught my eye with names like "Impress His Family Chardonnay Cake" and "Bribe a Kid Brownies".
So grab this book and see how many of these fab dishes you can conquer. After all, the title claims some lofty expectations if you do!
